On Friday December 22nd 2017 DARE Officer/Deputy Derek Estrem with the Rice County SO and his wife came home to their house that they purchased this summer shortly after getting married to find it fully engulfed in flames. They lost everything in the fire! A go fund me page was set up to help them get back on their feet! Property can be replaced. We are glad you and your wife are safe. Looking forward to seeing you at our next conference! The MN DARE Officers Association and MN DARE INC. has donated $250 EACH to Deputy Estrem and his wife.

With great presenters and accommodations at the Arrowwood Lodge in Baxter MN; DARE Officers from around the state got together once again for networking and new information to take back to their schools and communities to help the youth in their areas make good choices and stay chemical free. Thank you all for attending! We are already planning for next year and details will be emerging soon! Check back on this blog page frequently for more information! Also check out our training page for details and information related to all training by the MN DARE Officers Association.
Each Year the MN DARE Officers Association sends the current president of the association to the International DARE Conference which is held every July in the U.S. This year it was held in Grapevine Texas at the Gaylord Texan resort. What a massive resort complex! Almost the entire complex is indoors! The president then brings back new and current information to be presented at the MN DARE Officers Conference. What a great way to meet other DARE Officers from around the country and world!
Above is DARE Officer Cynthia Burke from the Ft. Huachuca AZ Police Department. According to her supervisor Lt. William Woodman she received her DARE Officer Training in Minnesota and he says she cannot say enough on how professional and committed the instructors were. Lt. Woodman created a plaque for her as she single handedly brought DARE back to the Fort Huachuca schools and has made it a tremendous success. Lt. Woodman had contacted us (MN DARE Officers Association) in search for a MN DARE Challenge Coin. We energetically assisted and sent one! Congrats and thank you DARE Officer Burke for a job well done! Lt. Woodman also informed us that Officer Burke is moving on to a new chapter in her life and they will be loosing her as a DARE Officer. Good luck Officer Burke in your new endeavors!
